Step 1 - Complete!

Well I’m officially going to Europe. Ever since I talked about this decision with my family I’ve had this small feeling that it could still not happen. Even after they agreed to it and I found the schools I was going to go to and the companies I would work for. There was still that feeling in the back of my head that I would not be going to Europe this Fall. Well yesterday I bought the plane tickets and signed up for my first school.

I’m leaving July 31st out of DFW and flying direct to Frankfurt, Germany. From there I’ll be taking a train up to Hamburg and signing into my school that I’ll be at for the next 8 weeks. I’ve signed up for school run by Cactus Language, which I’ve heard is a good language school. I’ll be in Hamburg for the 8 weeks taking 25 hours of classes a week. My first class starts August 2nd and I’ll be in the furnished apartment until September 25th. After that I’m going to be working with a company (Furwa) just outside of Hannover for a week and then I’ll go down to the other company (Jowat) that I’ll be working with for 3 weeks which is also just outside of Hannover.

Basically that’s all that I’ve got set in stone so far. So I’m definitely going to be in Europe for 3 months - I’m still trying to find the best language school that I can in France. So far my plan is to sign up for a school named the Centre International d’Antibes which is located right on the Riviera in South-East France. I’ll be there for 8 weeks starting classes on October 25th. I’ll hopefully be there until December 17th and then I’ll move onto Spain for 4 weeks taking a language class (still to be determined) and then I’ll go take an 8 week language class in Italy starting January 24th in Bologna.

I’ll then go to just outside of Milan and start working for a company called Ferrari (no, not the car one) and I’ll be there for the next 4 months. This is the plan that I’ve set forth and I’m hoping (haha unrealistically) everything falls into place exactly like I’m hoping.

So with step 1 complete, I’ve got a few(lot) more things I need to get accomplished before I can be on that plan in July. I need to go figure out my whole Visa situation which let me tell you is the biggest pain in the rear in the world.

Anyways, super long post because it’s my first real one and I’m kind of excited that we got step 1 done. I’ll update when I’ve got some news!
